Welcome to my home page.
You, like all who were ever born, came into this world with a disease known as sin. If this wasn’t bad enough, not only were you born with this hereditary problem, but you also chose to go deeper and deeper into this dark disease, doing evil according to the standard of the Creator God who made you, doing things against his will for righteousness for you. This is the situation in your life whether you were the worst criminal you could think of, or the most pious person known to this generation.
Whether your sin was a single lie told against someone making you guilty before God as a liar, or you were a convicted serial killer, you are guilty not of only breaking a small part of God’s law, but of breaking all of it. The quality of life demanded by the holy and righteous perfection of Creator God was just that: the perfection with which he created mankind.
Born into sin this sin nature, having also committed evil against God yourself, you’re unable to enter into his rest, unable to receive his spirit, unable to walk with him.
God wanted to walk with mankind. We see that from the beginning of the Bible, in the book called Genesis, after the first man committed the first sin, he hid from God:
And they heard the sound of the Lord God walking in the garden in the cool of the day, and the man and his wife hid themselves from the presence of the Lord God among the trees of the garden. But the Lord God called to the man and said to him, “Where are you?”Genesis 3:8-9, ESV
God still wanted to walk with mankind and have a friendship with him, but man was now in that state where man would no longer handle God’s presence, and man could not enter God’s holiness.
From this point on, there were those who found favor in God’s sight, but did not experience everything that God initially intended, that original creation free from sin, from disease, from wars, from anxieties, and from death. These things were now in place because of this thing called sin, not because it was God’s desire, but because mankind left God’s will going instead to his own ways, the ways of destruction.
Much time later, when the proper time had come, God sent his Son to earth, Jesus Christ. He didn’t have the same nature of death through sin when he was born because he was born of a virgin, his father being God, like the first man’s father was. He lived the perfect life, like God intended for us all to live, though he was in the same world of sin and temptation that we all have faced. He went about healing all who were oppressed by the devil, setting them free from demons and sickness. All who came to him were healed, demonstrating his Father’s will for all. He spoke a message the same as the prophets and all through the Bible, saying, “Repent, for the Kingdom of Heaven is at hand.”
After training those who followed him to do ministry the same way he did, the time came for him to give the ultimate sacrifice of his own life. In his own words, “Greater love has no man than this: that he lay down his life for his friends.” He gave his life willingly as they put him to death in one of the most cruel ways imaginable, through crucifixion, a death that he even told his friends was coming for him. There was a purpose for his death though.
Never having failed morally or sinned like the rest of us had, this man Jesus had each of our failings placed on him, just as was planned ahead of time with his Father. It was such a dark time that even the sun didn’t shine on the earth for a few hours, it’s recorded. He took the sin of the world on himself.
